We will look at paddling skills, expedition planning and packing, and (optionally) wild camping on a lakeshore. Expert tuition and positive support will be provided to participants throughout the course.
Canoes and paddling equipment will be available to borrow for the course, but if you prefer to bring your own that is fine. Participants should bring their own camping equipment and stoves, although some equipment may be available to borrow for the event from our store by pre-arrangement.
The first night will be based at Gillside campsite, but it is not required to stay there and the cost of this is not included in the price.
Friday evening will be a briefing session.
Saturday basic canoe paddling skills for efficient and enjoyable paddling on flat water. Saturday evening in the pub.
Sunday will cover more advanced journeying skills and safety and rescue. Finishing at 4pm.

Monday will be an introduction to moving water skills.
